HOW TO STORE SEASONAL CLOTHES

How to Store Clothes is one of those skills that everyone should learn if they want to have their clothes in perfect condition all year round. The wintertime is a great time to be able to show off your seasonal wardrobe. However, there are several mistakes people make when it comes to storing clothes for the whole year. Read on to find out how to avoid those mistakes so that you can store your clothes safely all year round.

If you want to know the best way to store clothes for the whole year, the answer is simple - buy garments in bulk. Never reuse cardboard boxes for storing seasonal clothes. They won't last long, and the contents will become stale very quickly. Plastic containers with snap-on lids are the best way to store clothes this way, as they keep the garments from becoming dirty or stale quickly. Also, look for plastic storage bins with tight-fitting lids, so that they don't retain moisture well.

When storing clothing for the whole family, consider having some kind of storage system that can hide away the seasonal items. There are many options available. You can buy storage racks for bedroom and wardrobe that fit neatly inside a large closet. You can buy hooks that hang on the door of your closet, so you can hang up your shirts, pants, and skirts at the end of the year. You can even buy storage bins for your winter wardrobe, so that you don't have to keep disorganizing your closet during the rest of the year.

Other solutions include plastic storage bins in which you can lay folded garments neatly inside. Plastic containers with snap-on lids are good for seasonal wear. You can also use plastic containers that roll up, or you can use seasonal hangers, such as the ones used for storing coats during the fall. You can also purchase hooks that fit snuggly under the arms of chairs and tables. These types of hangers are perfect to keep hanging up seasonal clothing that goes out of style during the summer months, but is otherwise not needed during the colder months.

If you do not want to spend money on buying individual storage solutions, you can make your own. The materials you will need are mostly common ones, such as wire and clear plastic. For example, you can buy plastic containers with small holes cut out of them to hold light bulbs. You can then use the wires to string the bulbs along the wire, so that the light stays lit and you don't have to move the bulbs around the house during the dark. If you want to provide more storage space, you can attach a couple of these containers together and stack them on top of one another.

Another great idea for storing items that you do not use all year long is to set up a clothes hamper. Instead of buying expensive patio furniture or other winter clothing, you can simply store it in your garage or basement, which already has a lot of space that can be used for this purpose. Using acid-free tissue paper makes it easy to organize your clothes because it makes the folding process simple and hassle free.

In order to prevent damage to your clothing, you should never put away clothing in places where they can get damaged by mildew. When you come home from a hard day at work, take a hot shower to get rid of the moths that can live in your carpet and upholstery. Before putting away items in the closet, remember to vacuum the floor as well to get rid of any dirt and dust particles that might be nesting there. Moths love to eat anything made of cotton, silk, wool, etc. Acid-free tissues are a good way to prevent your clothes from being eaten by the moths.

One area that should definitely have its own place in your closet is a storage unit. You can either get an entirely new storage unit or buy bins and shelves specifically designed to house winter clothes. Place heavy items on the top so that they don't get squashed when you are trying to move them inside the closet. Buy bins or shelves with lids so that you can stack and sort your winter clothes without any difficulty. It would be nice if there was a bin for every dresser in the house, but sometimes that just isn't practical.
